mizeryFree
Fresh into the Singapore music scene, mizeryFree pursues an ongoing desire to make music with a difference. Not conforming to the standards & norms of so-called \‘local music\’, they try to create a unique identity among other bands.
From simple acoustic ballads to adrenaline-pumping rock songs with heavily layered string orchestrations, this 5-piece band leaves no stone un-turned when crafting their songs. Each member brings into the band their own unique influences & creativity. Our songs, though generally sad & melancholic, depict a sense of hope amidst the gray areas in life.
Their debut album, ìListenî, due to be released by end 2004, is a culmination of all those elements.
\‘Appreciation\’ is the one word that the band holds very dearly. Over the course of 4 years, we have come across many people whose talents & passion have helped the band in one way or another. Amongst these people are, Victor Low, former member of Concave Scream & currently playing with The Observatory, Kenny Tan, winner of the Best of Show at the 2003 Hive Film Festival for his short film, \‘Lorong 27\’. Last but not least, Nightsound, a team of audio engineers & sound design specialists who have helped shape mizeryFree to what it is today.
mizeryFree is constantly on a lookout for avenues to reach out to people with their music.

Oligarchy
Started as a side-project band in June 2002 as Oviparous Oligarch, the band has then turned into a massive front for alternative rock. Founding members Wan (vocals/guitars) and Suf (drums) recruited Bob (bass/backing vocals) in February 2004 completing the line-up and dropping the name Oviparous Oligarch to just Oligarchy.

Oligarchy's main influence comes from a fallen band whose success lasted only around 7 years leaving behind a legacy. That band is Nirvana. Using grunge music as a catalyst, the trio has henceforth evolved their sound to post-grunge/alternative rock. Oligarchy believes that nothing should stand between any person and music.

Music is for everyone; music is life!

Stellarnova
A 5 piece band that play mulit-genre of music pieces. From rock to funk to emo to pop.

Ronin
Ronin is a rock band based in Singapore. They are infamous for their live performances and being one of the few high profile rock bands around. Before their entry to the mainstream market, the band launched a self-released EP which included 5 songs, and later released an LP which was hugely successful. Their debut album Do or Die has received rave reviews by local press, and is one of the top selling English-language albums in Singapore of all time. In 2006, the band collaborated with local Mediacorp artiste Fiona Xie in a love song duet, entitled "Love Will Shine on Through". The song was recorded to raise funds for a cancer project, with a book and a CD recorded together. One of their songs, "One More Moment", was covered by Singaporean artiste Ho Yeow Sun.
The band enjoyed a number one hit called Black Maria in the Singapore charts, the song Crazy Son reached third.[1] Ronin has also written the theme song and title soundtrack 'Memories' for the film Singapore Dreaming. [2][3]

Tic Tac Tone
Tic Tac Tone, an a cappella sextet, launched into the Singapore a cappella scene with a bang in June 2000 when they came in Second in the nationwide Sing Singapore competition with their arrangement of Singapura Medley.

Comprising five voices and a vocal percussionist, TTT likens their sound to bands and prefers to be known as a Vocal Band. They perform a wide range of music without musical instruments, spanning from contemporary pop to classic evergreens. Over the last two years, their sounds took a more definitive shape. Backed by powerful vocalists, heavy bass rhythms and impossible percussion beats, Tic Tac Tone added to their rapidly expanding repertoire to include R&B, Jazz and recently, original compositions. The style in which their music was performed became what they called Urbanised Funk.

Ugly in the morning
Formed in 1999 from the ashes of an earlier incarnation of the same name (then a 3-piece acoustic guitars/vocal harmony group formed by Eric, Noel & David). The earlier line-up was the resident band for three months at Moods, almost a year at Karma (Boat Quay), and also played slots at Off Quay (Boat Quay). The founding members decided that playing covers in pubs wasn't very fulfilling and decided to write original music in a full band format. Since then, they've been busy in and out of the studio writing, recording, and performing original material at various gigs.

Ugly In The Morning's sound can best be described as an eclectic mix of Funk, Blues and Rock with liberal doses of R&B/Soul with emphasis on vocal harmonies and kicking funk rhythms.

Vertical Rush
Vertical Rush have come a long way from their inception in 1998. Though they have experienced 10 years of lineup and stylistic changes, Vertical Rush remains true to their core passion: To make music that moves people.
Vertical Rush draw from a deep well of musical influences, ranging from classic to alternative rock, and it shows in their music. In a generation of bland imitators who scratch the surface, Vertical Rush are a much-needed voice of passion and maturity.

West Grand Boulevard
For a local band that’s barely three years old and has released only one album (2007’s Waiting for You), West Grand Boulevard (WGB) has managed to earn something lesser Singaporean acts can only hope for: strong street cred. Despite having been through the rock-band rite of passage of line-up changes (current vocalist Bryan Gamboa rejoined last year, in addition to new drummer Syed Hyder), this alternativerock quintet is often considered the local scene’s prodigal son for its energetic gigs, which showcase catchy hard-pop tunes like ‘DKNY’ and ‘Now We Will’.

What’s more, WGB has racked up stage hours performing at heavyweight local alternative music festivals, such as Baybeats, Fasten Your Seatbelt, Lime Sonic Bang and Rock the Sub; and just last month, they opened for San Diego’s surf-/power-pop quintet, Switchfoot, at Expo’s Max Pavilion.

Zero Sequence
Making music since 1998, Zero Sequence has seen it all in the local music scene and established themselves as one of Singapore's premier Progressive Rock bands.
While the band pays the occasional homage to the genre, their musical profiency sees them push things a step further as they take on ambitious, epic arrangements that are nothing short of grandiose. Ranging from intricate melodies, complex guitar riffs and solos, to the soaring sounds of the keyboards, Zero Sequence has it covered - pitch perfect to boot.
Their talent is evident in their sophomore album, Flight of Transcendence, which was released to critical acclaim in 2008, drawing comparisons with Prog-Rock heavy weights, Dream Theater, Rush, and Pink Floyd.
